Our Story
What started in 2009 as a small idea called 'RastaVacations" has evolved in to something so much bigger. We've spent years watching, making notes, and laying our foundation. Today, cannabis tourism is finally finding it's way on to the map- and we've been ready for it!
Vacationers wanted safe, welcoming destinations where they could truly relax and be themselves. But finding reliable options wasn’t easy.

That's me: Kathy Wood. I'm the creative force behind the inception of 420 Compass. Having enjoyed cannabis for over 50 years, it just seems natural to play a part in the evolving world, and acceptance, of what we all know is one of the most important, yet most vilified, plants on the planet.

What started in 2009 as a small, boutique experiment turned out to be a pretty viable idea: helping people who enjoy cannabis find safe, fun, beautiful destinations where they can vacation and enjoy their favorite libation- without worrying about what people might say, or if they're doing anything sketchy, or if they're breaking any laws or insulting local etiquette.
Our phone started ringing. We were on to something.
Finding a travel company willing or even interested in cannabis travel was, well, IMPOSSIBLE. It took a while. Still, we watched, we made notes, we stayed on top of things. We found the right fit. A place where we have access to the world of travel and can still focus on cannabis tourism. This has not been without its challenges- but here we are. It’s been since 2009, but we’ve found the right fit, and, well, a world of amazing cannabis friendly travel destinations is unfolding.
After almost 2 decades of exploring safe, legit vacation experiences that cannabis fans would love, we have the experience needed to excel in this gray area of the tourism industry: cannabis tourism. Imagine: one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry is cannabis tourism, and there's not even a database for agents to access. Fact is, we ARE the database.
You'll find local companies, tour companies, and all kinds of individual offerings in the cannabis lodging sector on our website, and we work with most of them. But you won't find any offering cruises, rental cars, locations worldwide... or the experience that only 420 Compass has to offer.
